Salmon Cadillac

I had driven past this old car wash dozens of times, at all times of day, and stopped to photograph the old Cadillac several times. Something was always missing. One day, I stopped and saw that a giant fiberglass salmon, mounted on a trailer, had been parked behind the building. I grabbed my camera and waited for the light. It’s one of my favorite photographs, but I might never have captured it if I hadn’t stopped repeatedly to look for a new way of seeing.
