Reflections
This is a reflection of your city, my hometown, Kansas City. It seems logical that it’s reversed, because you will never see this town in this way again. Everything that’s here now is something that feels like normal. Time will pass, and none of it will feel the same. Landmarks will be razed, familiar places will just stop being familiar. This, I’m afraid, is the natural order of things. Long after I’m gone, your version of who I was will be subject to your imperfect memory, to emotional translation, to the passing of time and its erosion of details. Take the time now to stop and look around you, make note of where you are, who you are, how it feels, how it sounds, how it shapes your life.
It will never be this again, and while the changes are painful, it’s okay.
You’ll be fine.

Just see beyond the looking glass.
