Neon at Dusk
Finding the light can be hard . . .
October 20, 2012 at 6:41:19 p.m. at Harvey’s Bar and Grille on 40 Highway in Independence, Missouri. I got permission, set up my camera and captured what I saw. I loved the deep blues, the angle of the neon and the wild tangle of overhead lines criss-crossing the frame. It’s what I felt. This is me, doing what I do.
I am proud of this image, taken at a time when I was at my loneliest, my saddest, most frustrated, most broken. I literally had to force myself to create it. Kathi was in the car, but I was alone.
Sometimes, when everything seems bleak, sad, and totally without promise, you are reminded that you have a purpose for being who and what you are, and that just being who you are - just that - is enough for the world and for you.

The Photos says it all!
